My cousin Noah recently won a Webby award for his super cool blog, "Skull-A-Day, " where he made skulls every day for a YEAR! It's now called "Skull-A-Day 2.0." He also has a BOOK on skulls coming out this year. The pic up top is of Noah accepting his award. He was told he could only use 5 words in his speech. So he said, "This could be a spine." Here he is at the awards ceremony with sister Mica.
This is a message from Ryan's mom:
I need to spread the word that several stores across the U.S. are selling this water bottle, called the "Breast Cancer Awareness Bottle," and that it would be in your best interest to NOT PURCHASE IT! It contains chemicals linked to Cancer, specifically BISPHENOL-A (BPA). This is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. Check out this site to learn more about BPA (http://www.reusablebags.com/store/reusable-bottles-c-19.html).
Canada has BANNED these bottles and other products made with this chemical, but our own Food and Drug Administration says that the link to cancer "cannot be proven," so these products are still on the shelves!
This BPA bottle is technically not refillable because once the bottle warms up/heats up and reaches a certain temperature, the toxins from the plastic bottle can transfer to the liquid you are drinking inside it. Repeated cooling and then thawing/warming of bottles made with this chemical is not recommended.
The next time you drink from ANY plastic water bottle be sure to turn it over and look for the number inside the little recyclable logo. If it has a number 7 and DOES NOT SAY BPA-FREE, please make sure you throw the bottle away after drinking its contents. PLEASE DO NOT REFILL, CHILL AND REUSE BOTTLES UNLESS THEY ARE BPA-FREE!! Fortunately, there are BPA-free brands available to us, just do a search.
I cannot believe the irony in this situation. A product is being sold to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and it's not safe and may actually cause Cancer?!
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, PEOPLE! SPREAD THE WORD!
The cashier at our supermarket told us about the baseball card "grab bag" at the local hobby shop. It's a bunch of old baseball cards that the employees put in a bag and you pick the bag. Thing is, you have no idea what you'll get! There were 264 cards in my bag!!!!! All for $3.75!! WOW, what a sweet deal!
Oh yes, you ARE a pretty good picture taker. I know some gown-ups who'd love to have taken pictures like... read more
